Need a hand with your project? I can help!

I specialize in these genres: memoir, lifestyle, self-help, women’s fiction, devotionals and daily readers, Young Reader nonfiction, and children’s picture books.

  • No matter the words you need, I’ll put them together in a way that resonates with your audience.

📚 Ghostwriting and Collaborative Writing for books: I write books for trade and indie publishing, specializing in nonfiction and children’s books.

📬 Creating and polishing content for brands and businesses: I write Substack posts, newsletters, magazine articles, website copy, blog posts, scripts, presentations, and speeches.

👩🏻‍💻 Copywriting: I have experience creating product descriptions, book cover and jacket copy, web copy, and bios.

  • From What if? to finished project, I can walk you through every stage of the editing process.

    • 🧩 Developmental Editing: Books are basically great, big puzzles—and I love a good puzzle. In this stage (which some editors call "substantive editing"), I’ll help you move around the puzzle pieces of your manuscript so your message or story fits together perfectly. I’ll also suggest text to cut and add to round it all out.

What you’ll get from me: An editorial letter with a thorough analysis of your manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses, and suggestions to help you reach your audience more effectively. You’ll also receive an annotated copy of your manuscript with my notes and suggestions in line with the text.

    • 🔎 Manuscript Review: Need to figure out where to start, or what’s not working? Let’s think about where your manuscript is, and how to get it where you’d like it to be.

This is a good option for writers who are looking for a more general assessment and feel comfortable making edits with less hands-on direction than a Developmental Edit would offer.

What you’ll get from me: An editorial letter with a thorough analysis of your manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses, and suggestions to help you reach your desired audience more effectively.

(Please note: This option does not include an annotated manuscript.)

    • 🩺 Book Doctoring: Are you in the middle of a project and need some major TLC to get a manuscript to the finish line (and you needed to get to that finish line, like, yesterday)? It might be time to get a diagnosis and treatment from a Book Doctor.

What you’ll get from me: A quick consultation to assess your goals for the manuscript, then a production schedule to get the project on track, followed by a clean manuscript that’s ready for a light line or copy edit. As your Book Doctor, I’ll surgically extract what doesn’t need to be in your manuscript and graft in what does as I rewrite your text. This is the most hands-on editing service I offer.

(Please note: This service differs from a Developmental Edit, where the writer revises and rewrites the manuscript based on my edits.)

    • 📝 Line Editing: This is the unsung hero of the editing process! The goal of a line edit is to make your words flow, allowing your reader to drink them in quickly and easily. After your manuscript has received a Developmental Edit and the structure of your book is locked in, I’ll help you hone the manuscript line by line, polishing your words so that your message shines.

What you’ll get from me: A copy of your manuscript with my revisions of your text, along with annotated questions and suggestions to improve the clarity of your prose.

    • ✒️ Copy Editing: Your tenth-grade English teacher would love this step. In a copy edit, I’ll hone the grammar and mechanics, plus give your manuscript a thorough fact check.

What you'll get from me: A copy of your manuscript with my revisions of your text. You’ll also receive a style sheet that analyzes your writing style and outlines how I’ve revised the text to adhere to the publishing-standard Chicago Manual of Style and/or your publisher’s house style guide.

This is the final step before a manuscript is typeset by a designer and sent to proofreaders. While I don't offer design or proofreading services, I can connect you with talented professionals who do.
